Trekking Along the Alta Via in Cortina d’Ampezzo

The beauty of Cortina d’Ampezzo relies on its incredible surroundings: the Dolomites, World Heritage by UNESCO and considered the most beautiful mountains in the world, and the Natural Park of the Dolomites of Ampezzo.

In the second half of the XVIII century these mountains got their name from the French naturalist Deodat de Dolomieu who was the first to study the special kind of rock predominant in the region and named it “Dolomia”.
At sunrise, but especially at sunset, Dolomia takes on a color ranging from rosy to fire red: this phenomenon is called Enrosadira and is visible especially during the summer evenings. The variations in its hues depends on the different position of the sun during the year as well as on atmospheric conditions.

To let you get in close contact with these mountains Dolomiti SkiRock offers a beautiful trekking, always keeping the same altitude, and staying overnight in comfortable and welcoming lodges offering excellent cuisine. The daily excursions vary from a walk along mountain trails to medium difficulty level via ferratas reaching the mountain top.
