Ski mountaineering trip to Col Beeches Cortina Dolomites

This backcountry (ski mountaneering) itinerary takes place inside the Ampezzo Natural Park, along a valley that starts in the forest and climbs toward rugged terrain with ancient, fragile rocks colored in an intense yellow next to The Croda di Antrulies.

It is a demanding trip (elevation gain1326 mt ), that requires good physical fitness and experience. It also requires good and stable snow conditions. The best period is in spring, March–April, skiing on well-settled snow.

Route Description

You park the car in the large parking area at Sant’Uberto. Following the road that leads to Malga Ra Stua, at a certain point on the left you must descend onto another small road that leads to Casone de Antruiles. Signs indicate the direction.

The first part of the trip develops through the forest, then the route continues up the beautiful valley that climbs to a saddle (forcella). It is recommended to stay well away from the rocky walls, as stones may fall from above.

Once the saddle is reached, continue along a slope that leads to the summit.
