Ferrata Barbara to Fanes Waterfalls

This is a highly fascinating itinerary as for the natural environment and wildlife, because it is entirely in the Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Nature Park, which was set up in 1990 and covers an area of 11.000 hectares. In the nature park steinbocks, deers, roe deers, eagles, eagle owls, marmots and many other wild animals currently live.

The via ferrata is easy, suitable also for families with children and for beginners willing to try for the first times the via ferrata techniques. The path il well-equipped and completely safe.

Information about the Via Ferrata Barbara to Fanes Waterfalls

The excursion itinerary is fascinating and varied and includes two sections of easy via ferrata. The path goes along the stream Rio Fanes and through the woods, passing bridges, waterfalls and canyons.

The via ferrata is equipped with a fixed steel cable. The itinerary draws a circle passing over the stream canyon and includes an amazing passage behind the waterfall, which is more than 90 metre high.

The excursion starting point is the car park located in San Uberto hamlet, north of Cortina towards Fiames. The trail that leads to the starting point of the via ferrata is easy and passes through the woods.

The time required to complete the via ferrata ascent is two hours, while the excursion overall duration time is four hours.

It is also possible to go by mountain bike from Cortina to the via ferrata and backwards.
