Lastoi de Formin ski mountaineering excursion

The ski moutaineering tour of Lastoi de Formin, a wide rocky plateau that descends towards a spruce and larch wood, is one of the most popular excursions that start from Cortina. It is an easy and safe itinerary in the amazing area of Mondeval.

The importance of the Mondeval area is linked to the presence of an archaeological site discovered in 1985, where the archaeologists found the surprisingly well-preserved remains of a Mesolithic huntsman, who was buried with his personal belongings around 7500 years ago.

Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Lastoi de Formin

The ski mountaineering excursion to Lastoi de Formin has its starting point close to Passo Giau. From there, the pass Forcella Giau is already visible: you will reach it ascending along the slope and from there you will see the Mondeval plain.
