"My name is Giacomo, “Jack” and I'm one of those lucky men who managed to make out of their passion, their job, becoming a mountain guide.

Since I were a child, I used to spend my holidays with my grandparents in San Vito di Cadore, soon developing a great passion for these places.

When I was 16, after dreaming it for years, my parents allowed me to start climbing, and in that first season I managed to climb the Solleder route, on the North-West face of mt. Civetta. When I finally got my driving licence and the consequent freedom to go to the mountains whenever I could, at the age of 18, I met a special friend who made me discover steep and extreme skiing.

This soon became my main activity and I used to start my skiing season in early October on Marmolada with the first snow flakes and continue until july on the majestic slopes of Mt. Blanc, enjoyng each year some amazing skiing experiences, ranging from the Dolomitic Couloirs to the steep peaks of Western Alps. In the spare time I had from my ski trips, I managed to complete my studies and I got my enology degree.

But my love for the mountains was too strong and I decided to abandon winemaking for moving to Domegge di Cadore where I now live. I'm happily married, I have two amazing dogs, and every morning I'm lucky to open my bedroom window in a wonderful mountain town and to live this environment to the fullest through my job which I believe to be the best in the whole world.
