Steep Skiing in the Dolomites Couloirs

Giacomo took a photographer and videographer from France and his friend, a skilled free-rider and telemarker, on a three-day skiing tour of the best steep couloirs in the Dolomites, the Marmolada, the Sella Area and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

With 70 cm. of fresh new snow piled up in recent days, on the first day we skied off-piste in the Marmolada area!

Very strong free-riders, turning every 70 meters on first quality powder, after six runs along the Marmolada slopes we took the final descent on the Ornella couloir, finishing the day with a bang.

On the second day we skied the steep couloirs in the Sella Area: Val Lasties, the Holzer and Joel couloirs, the Sass de Forcia couloir and Val Mezdì.

On the third day we enjoyed great jumps in the fresh snow dunes at the Cinque Torri; then, climbing on double rope from the top of Bus di Tofana through the famous and breathtaking arch, we ended the tour of steep couloirs in the Dolomites with a beautiful run along the couloir that starts on the Bus di Tofana and follows the Cacciatori Couloir.”
