Mario Dibona and Michele Barbiero did the first ascent of a new rock climbing route on Piccolo Lagazuoi and called it Fante di Cuori. The route has been done climbing from the bottom for the first half and rappelling down from the top for the last section.
Fante di Cuori has been dedicated to all the young soldiers died during the WW1, fighting on the Dolomites Front line.
The climbing it’s nice and challenging with 8 pitches on perfect rock. The route with a grade of 6c+ with three meters of aid climbing hes been equipped with 10 mm bolts and chains at the belays.
From Passo Falzarego a 30 minutes walk leads to the bottom of the south west face of Piccolo Lagazuoi, just under the cable car line. For the return we suggest to follow the easy Cengia Martini (45 min.).
