Trekking through the six passes in the Cadini di Misurina

The Cadini di Misurina are a spectacular small group of mountains in the Eastern Dolomites, just across the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo, recognised as world heritage by UNESCO.

The Cadini feature spiked peaks and spectacular gaps called forcelle, that can be reached on well-maintained trails creating a circular itinerary, unique and spectacular in its own kind.

As the trail continuously climbs up and down, participants need to be in good physical shape. The trails are well marked, a few stretches run out but are securely bolted with a metal rope and are devoid of drinking water.

Information on the trekking to the six forcelle through the Cadini di Misurina

The trekking to the Cadini di Misurina starts at the parking lot in the vicinity of the toll booth for the road to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. We take a trail in the woods climbing towards the Auronzo Lodge and, just before we reach it, we veer to the right along a ridge where the beautifully panoramic Bonacossa trail starts taking you to the Forcella Rinbianco at 2176 meters.

From this Forcella you can see the next one, the Forcella della Torre at 2400 meters which we are going to reach on a steep trail. Without much elevationloss we reach the Forcella Sabbiosa at 2440 m, then down to 2400 to the Forcella Cadin Deserto and the Forcella Cristina.

By a long traverse on the same nice trail we reach the base to the Forcella della Neve passing under the breathtaking Innerkofler Tower. Climbing to 2471 meters and the Forcella della Neve the trail follows a landslide without any marks.

We downclimb on the opposite side quite steep in the first part, reaching down to an open valley, then mellowing out into a nice trail easily descending to our starting point.
