Snowshoes Excursion from Cortina to Croda Negra

Looking South from the Falzarego Pass, you see a great ridge, not exceedingly steep, leading to the top of Croda Negra at 2518 m.

This snowshoe excursion is not too long and deserves a real try. Walking with snow rackets near the long ridge runout leading to the old cross on the summit is quite spellbinding.

From the summit you can admire the highest peaks in the Dolomites such as the Antelao, Pelmo, Civetta, and Marmolada mountains.

Information on the snowshoe excursion to Croda Negra

The snowshoe excursion starts at Passo Falzarego. It runs along the ski slope on the right that descends towards Col Gallina, following gentle slopes. Once we are in proximity of the ski lift, it crosses over, only if the snow is well set, reaching the Croda Negra ridge and following it to the summit.

The descent follows the same itinerary of the ascent.
