Ski Mountaineering Week at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo

The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are perhaps the best known and surely the most photographed mountains in the world, part of UNESCO World Heritage since 2009. Heavily featured in all the literature about mountains, they are easy to reach and historically important, so they are a favorite destination for tourists and nature lovers, offering a unique sight with their cone shaped structure.

In the winter season this area is popular for ski mountaineering fans as it offers a wide range of choice from the Tre Cime di Lavaredo to the small mountain range known as Cadini di Misurina, both rich in passes and deep-snow valleys surrounded by the typical Dolomitic landscape.

All excursions feature a different level of difficulty and length, based on the skills and training of the participants; therefore this week is dedicated both to those who want to take relaxed, less technical excursions and those who want the challenge of more technical and difficult ones.

Program Information

Dolomiti SkiRock offers a ski mountaineering week package (from Monday to Friday) with emphasis on nature and sightseeing. We will stay at a small, yet welcoming hotel located just below these magnificent mountains where almost all the best ski mountaineering excursions start.

The hotel was recently restructured and offers nice private rooms and a refined cuisine featuring typical local dishes paired with high quality wines.

Near the hotel it is also possible to take special snowmobiles runs though forests and snowy meadows reaching the foot of the imposing faces of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo where you can enjoy a 360 panorama.

PROGRAM

Day 1

The first day of ski will be held in Cortina, partly using the lifts to determine technical and off-piste skills. A short training class on the correct use of the ARTVA transceiver will follow.
In the evening we move to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo area, about 40 minutes away by car.

Days 2 – 5

Four ski mountaineering excursions within sight of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. You can choose among the following:

• Forcella della Neve
• Forcella del Nevaio
• Forcella delle Bance
• Val Fonda at Cristallo Pass
• Crossing of the Three Forcelle
• Forcella Cristallino

The package includes:

• transfer to/from relevant Italian and Austrian airports
• all transportation during the tour
• UAIGM mountain guide fluent in English
• Half-board hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo – 1 night
• Hal- board hotel in Misurina with boxed lunch
• Avalanche transceiver if necessary
