Off-piste skiing on Piz Boè, Val delle Fontane

From the summit of Piz Boè 3152 meters of altitude, the highest point of Sella Group, it is possible to ski down along a spectacular and aspired descend, steep and straight, going through a technical gully between the rocks which goes out on the wide slopes just above the village of Arabba.

This off-piste skiing on Piz Boè is suggested to skiers with a very good technic and experience in off-pist.

Informations about off-piste skiing on Piz Boè

From Pordoi pass, accessible with the chair-lift of Arabba, take the Cable-Car to Maria Hut, one of the most beautiful and panoramic place of the Dolomites. From the terrace of the Hut, it is possible to have a look to the way to climb up and also to the summit of Piz Boè.

Now we have to put on our skies and ski down to Forcella Pordoi, then after a long traverse we’ll be at the beginning of the slope which goes up to the summit of Piz Boè. From this point, we need to carry the skies on our backpack and put on the crampons to climb up the slopes to the summit, some short scrambles are equipped with a wire.

The descend from the summit, after a fantastic 360° landscape on the highest peaks of the Dolomites, starts with a zig zag around some outcropping rocks heading East until a technical and narrow passage to reach the beginning of the main gully.

The off-piste skiing is spectacular, technical and challenging at the beginning, easier but always nice on the wide slopes at the end, just in the dowtown of Arabba.
