Information about the Grande Guerra Ski Tour
The First World War Ski Tour starting point is Monte Lagazuoi (2800 metres a.s.l.), where it is possible to visit the military posts and tunnels dug into the rocks that date back to the First World War.
From there, the Armentarola ski slope will lead you towards the Badia valley: this slope is 12 km long and ends up on a plain that skiers cross in a very peculiar way, thanks to the horses that actually tow them to the following lift.
The First World War Ski Tour goes on, heading towards the Marmolada glacier and crossing the amazing frozen waterfalls of Serrai de Sottoguda.
Then, after a short bus ride you will get to the foot of the majestic north-western face of Monte Civetta, where there is a wide choice of ski slopes that will suit the needs of any skier.
The time required to complete the Grande Guerra Ski Tour is five/six hours.
