Ferrata Ra Bujela on Tofana di Mezzo

ISTA Cortina Cableways has recently decided to build a new via ferrata, which has been named "Via ferrata Maria and Andrea Ferrari".

The new via ferrata is located on the lower tower of Pomedes close to the Tofane black ski slope and is of medium difficulty.

In season, the via ferrata is accessed via the chairlift Tofane in Piè Tofana, which leads to the refuge Duca d'Aosta. Off-season, when the chairlifts are closed, it is possible to reach the mountain refuge by car along a dirt road.

About the Via Ferrata Ra Bujela on Tafana

It is an interesting and well-equipped route. The initial section scale vertical lines and cross suspension bridges. The final section, leading to the summit, is less challenging and follow a long and articulated ridge.

The itinerary is an ideal introduction to ferrata climbing routes or for days with changeable weather, because it is relatively short and close to mountain refuges.

More experienced and fitter climbers can continue the climb along the "Ferrata Olivieri".
