Ferrata De Luca - Innerkofler to Mount Paterno

The Via Ferrata De Luca - Innerkofler leads up to the summit of Mount Paterno (2496 metres a.s.l.). The top of this mountain is undoubtedly the best place where to enjoy the view of the majestic north faces of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the most amazing mountains of the world.

This highly enjoyable itinerary goes along paths that date back to the First World War, passing ledges and mountain passes and finally descending in a tunnel that was dug by the Austrian army and leads straight to the foot of the Tre Cime, close to the mountain hut Rifugio Locatelli.

Information about the Via Ferrata De Luca - Innerkofler

The itinerary starts from the mountain hut Rifugio Auronzo, from where an easy trail leads to Forcella Lavaredo. From there, the path goes along the ridge that leads to the starting point of the equipped via ferrata.

The Via Ferrata De Luca - Innerkofler goes along the north-eastern edge and the east face of Mount Paterno to reach the mountain pass Forcella dei Camosci, from where it is possible to climb up to the summit, at an altitude of 2744 metres.

The excursion difficulty level is intermediate, the overall duration time is approximately five hours. The via ferrata elevation gain is 450 metres, while the excursion overall elevation gain is 800 metres.
