E-bike tour of World War I sites

Tour of WWI sites by e-bike, an assisted pedaling mountain bike, in the 5 Torri area in the Dolomites with a Mountain Guide.

This excursion around the sites of the Great World War is historically very interesting. In fact, the area around the 5 Torri witnessed fierce fighting between the Italian and Austrian armies. A few years ago, a route was faithfully recreated and we are able to walk along it, visiting buildings, tranches, tunnels and strategic holdouts perched on the mountains.

Besides the historical sites, the route of the e-bike tour of World War I develops along beautiful natural sceneries typical of the Dolomites, among rocks, meadows, brooks and forests reaching down to Cortina.

Information on the e-bike tour of World War I sites

The e-bike tour of World War I sites starts in Cortina, climbing along a paved road to Pie Tofana, where we take a chairlift reaching Rifugio Duca d’Aosta.

By bike we ride down along the “Tofanina” ski slope, reaching State Route # 51 and following it for about 1 km. Then on the left we take the narrow and steep road taking us to the 5 Torri Hut.

We leave the bikes at the lodge and we follow the riveting and evocative historical WWI trail for about one and a half hours.

We ride down following the uphill road until on the right we cross a trail in the woods taking us to the Pezie de Paru place.

We continue on towards the Ajal and Pianozes lakes, returning finally to Cortina.
