Dolomites backcountry ski tour to the Croda Rossa in Ampezzo

Reaching 3146 meters, the Croda Rossa Peak is located on the border between South Tyrol and the Veneto region, within both the Natural Park of the Dolomites in Ampezzo in the province of Belluno and the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park, in South Tyrol.

The backcountry excursion in the Dolomites to the Croda Rossa is spectacular; it unfolds facing the great north face of the Croda Rossa in Ampezzo. The gateway to the great amphitheater, surrounded by rocky walls made of main dolomite, red, black, brown and grey in color, is truly breathtaking.

Many legends have been written on this area and this mountain in the Dolomites, found in the book “Legends of the Dolomites”
