Dolomites without Borders

Reynhold Messner, the famous mountain climber from Sudtyrol, on June 9th set the marker for “Dolomites without Border”, a magnificent 100 km itinerary along vie ferrate and mule tracks. A “Pathway for Peace” crossing the historical sites of the Great World War connecting Italy and Austria.

This spectacular trekking follows trails, vie ferrate, passes, and ledges equipped just for this project. It starts from the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the most famous peaks in the world, and goes on to Mount Popena; then it crosses the border into Austria, ending at Porze Hutte Lodge after nine days of walking.

It is possible to spend the night and sample delicious typical mountain dishes in the 17 lodges located along the way that are the soul and cornerstone of this bilateral initiative.

The trekking of Dolomites  without Borders can be split into 2 or 4 legs, or done in one shot for the most trained participants.
