Backcountry skiing in Cortina to Cristallino d'Ampezzo

Great Backcountry skiing adventure in Cortina at Cristallino d’Ampezzo between sun, rock and snow.

Mario, Michele, Giacomo and Andrea during a beautiful sunny day did a loop around the Cristallino d’Ampezzo, climbing up to Forcella Grande Pass at 2874 mt of altitude going ahead following the via ferrata Ivano Dibona and reaching Staunies Pass at 2918 mt of altitude. After this, a nice descent with the ski drove the team down to Rio Gere, at the beginning of the tour. At the moment there is not a big amount of snow, but enough for going down with the ski.

The “Cristallino Ski Tour“ is an amazing complete backcountry skiing adventure: after a first section to skin up, there is the via ferrata to climb with crampons and ice axe and at last a long freeride descent.

The backcountry skiing in Cortina to Cristallino d'Ampezzo requires a good fit, mountaineering practice, knowledge about the itinerary and the snow condition. It is recommended to do this tour with the support of a Professional Mountain Guide.
